Grade Three Victory for Night Prowler

Night Prowler (Giant's Causeway) winning the Transylvania Stakes (Gr.3) at Keenland

Progressive three year-old Night Prowler (3g Giant’s Causeway x Mary’s Follies, by More Than Ready) added another feature win to his tally when taking out the $100,000 Keeneland Transylvania Stakes.

Luckless at his previous run when fifth in the Grade III Palm Beach Stakes last month, the Chad Brown trained Night Prowler rebounded to score a determined neck win in the 1 and 1/16th mile contest on turf.

“I had a beautiful trip,” said winning rider Javier Castellano.

“I really liked the way he did it. He’s got a great kick in the last part of the race, so I was really fortunate. I had a lot of trouble in his last race [in the Palm Beach]. He got covered up, and I didn’t find any seam [to run through]. I was very fortunate today. He was able to work it out.”

A homebred for Paul Pompa Jr, Night Prowler has three wins and two thirds from just six starts with prizemoney topping $184,000.

Night Prowler is the first winner for Grade II winner Mary’s Follies and is the third Graded stakes-winner this month for Giant’s Causeway joining Carpe Diem and Protonico.
