Dalkala (4f Giant’s Causeway-Daltaya, by Anabaa) carried her breeder the Aga Khan’s colours to victory in a great renewal of the G1 Prix de l’Opera at Longchamp on Sunday when prevailing in a photo finish.
Alain de Royer Dupre’s charge got up on the line to win the 10-furlong contest to the delight of her trainer. “She’s a very experienced filly and tries as hard as she can,” de Royer Dupre told PA Sport.
The Giant’s Causeway filly, previously a dual G2 winner who hails from the family of Dalakhani and Daylami, may have run her last race.
The Aga Khan added: “In my experience, every time you keep a filly in training at five it hasn’t been an advantage. She’s very important to our breeding operation.”
