New Grade Two Winner for Scat Daddy

Scat Daddy’s benchmark year for his juveniles continued at Woodbine on Saturday when talented colt Conquest Daddyo (2c Scat Daddy x Hangingbyamoment, by Thunder Gulch) took out the Grade II Summer Stakes.

The Mark Casse trained colt was the less fancied of two runners from the same stable, but proved the best on race day kicking clear to win the one mile turf contest by a length and three-quarters, taking his overall record to two wins and a second from three starts.

“It doesn’t surprise me at all,” said Mark Casse.

“This horse worked extremely well on the grass the other day. Scat Daddys love the grass and this is a big, long-striding colt that’s just going to get better the farther he runs.”

Sold twice as a yearling for $150,000 at Keeneland January and then for $350,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale, Conquest Daddyo is a half-brother to stakes-winner Hangingbyathread and is the sixth winner for good producer Hangingbyamoment.

Conquest Daddyo is the 56th stakes-winner for Scat Daddy, who leads the North American Two Year Old Sires List.
