Promising colt Majestic Hussar (3c Majestic Warrior x Distorted Blaze, by Distorted Humor) posted a commanding win at Gulfstream when making his first appearance for 2013.
The Eddie Kenneally trained colt surged to the lead and was never seriously challenged in cruising home to win the seven furlong allowance by two and a quarter lengths. Majestic Hussar had won his maiden in equally impressive fashion last summer at Saratoga and after his latest victory connections confirmed the colt is on the Kentucky Derby trail.
Kenneally said Majestic Hussar would step up to graded company next “We will stretch him out next time while looking at all the appropriate races, including the Fountain of Youth.”
A homebred for Joseph Witek, Majestic Hussar has won two of four starts and is a half-brother to Grade III winner Joes Blazing Aaron being from good producer Distorted Blaze.
Also in the winner’s circle was Kale’s Kourage (3c Majestic Warrior x Be a Quiet Honey, by Quiet American), who scored at Oaklawn Park by a length at his second start.
