The broodmare sire of Fastnet Rock, Royal Academy is best known as the horse that Lester Piggott came out of retirement to ride to win the 1990 Breeders’ Cup Mile, providing Vincent O’Brien with his only Breeders’ Cup victory.

This daughter of Fastnet Rock won 4 Group 1s to be crowned Champion 3YO Filly and Champion Older Mare. Later, her mating to Galileo produced the Hong Kong Group 1 winner Russian Emperor.
