$360,000 American Pharoah Filly Stars at Classic

The most expensive filly sold during the first session of the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale on Sunday fetched $360,000 and was from the third crop of Triple Crown here American Pharoah.

Consigned by Ridgmont Farm, the filly is the first foal of Group III place Snitzel mare Royal Fashion and was bought by Blake Ryan Racing.

Ryan had to outbid Annabel Neasham to secure the athletic filly, who comes from the family of Group II winner Alpine Eagle and stakes-winner Every Faith.

She was a stunning pinhook success having been bought by James Bester Bloodstock for $55,000 from the Newgate Consignment at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.

“I loved the way she moved and her attitude,” said Blake Ryan.

“She’s out of a Snitzel mare and she’s very Snitzel…. she reminded me of those good Snitzel fillies you see, sharp and early two year-olds.

“She’s a beautiful filly and I fell in love with her the moment I saw her and I wasn’t going home without her.”
