American Pharoah Colt Wins by Nine!
A three year-old maiden winner at this time of year that scores by nine lengths is always going to warrant attention with King of Pharaohs (3c American Pharoah x Miss With Attitude by Galileo) saluting at Coleraine on Friday.
Trained by Lindsey Smith, King of Pharaohs was luckless at his first two starts finishing third at Ballarat and then sixth at Sandown, but he made amends in no uncertain terms with a commanding victory at his third trip to the races.
Sent out a hot favourite for the 1600m maiden, King of Pharoahs was simply a mile too good for his hapless rivals.
Retained to race by his breeders after being withdrawn from Inglis Easter, King of Pharaohs was raised at renowned South Australian nursery Mill Park Stud and has a pedigree to suggest longer trips will suit him even better.
He is a half-brother to South African Group III winner Crown Towers and is the fifth winner from five to race from Group II placed Galileo mare Miss With Attitude, a half-sister to the dams of Group II winner Peltzer and stakes-winner So We Are.
King of Pharaohs looks another progressive three year-old for American Pharoah, who is back at in Australia this spring at a fee of $49,500.
