Champion Racehorse Now a Champion Sire
The first crop of Australian bred yearlings by American Pharoah are set to wow buyers at the Gold Coast next month at the 2020 Magic Millions Yearling Sale, his phenomenal first crop results from his Northern Hemisphere bred two year-olds make our Triple Crown hero the Champion First Crop Sire of North America for 2019.
26 winners in six different countries highlighted by 11 stakes performers are statistics that have stamped American Pharoah as all but a proven sire for Australian buyers.
His tally of winners is headed by Group II winners Four Wheel Drive and Sweet Melania, Group III winner Maven and stakes-winner Another Miracle, all of these exciting young gallopers successful on turf.
Despite his prowess over longer distances, American Pharoah is producing fast and trainable stock with three of his four stakes-winners winning at distances of 1200 metres or less with the exception of Sweet Melania, whose two wins have come at 1700m.
At the Breeders’ Cup meeting at Santa Anita earlier this year American Pharoah made his mark in impressive fashion with Four Wheel Drive taking out the Group II Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, while Sweet Melania was third in the Group I Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf Fillies.
American Pharoah's stock have proven particularly well suited in the elite racing environment of Japan where he has had five winners from seven starters!
