9-time Epsom Derby winning jockey Lester Piggott visited Coolmore on Friday where he met another Derby legend. “Camelot was obviously a very good horse,” said Lester. “He had the Derby won a long way out, it reminded me of Sir Ivor’s win.” Camelot is the first horse since Nijinsky, another of Lester’s favourites, to land the 2,000 Guineas, Epsom Derby and Irish Derby treble. He is also the fastest son of Montjeu and a Gr.1-winning European champion at both 2 and 3 years.
