Fastnet Rock Mare Wins Second Prix De La Foret
Sunday saw Lael Stables homebred One Master (5m Fastnet Rock - Enticing, by Pivotal) secure back-to-back runnings of the Group 1 Prix de la Foret at Longchamp.
The William Haggas-trained mare had been running well in defeat this season, gaining placed honours in two Group 1 contests over a mile and was last seen running on well in the Prix Maurice de Gheest. Man-of-the-moment Pierre-Charles Boudot positioned the bay towards the back of the field, switching left to challenge from the two furlong marker and made good headway to lead inside the final furlong. Running on well, she beat the favourite City Light by half a length, with Speak In Colours (Excelebration) staying on for third.
One Master is the best performer out of the dam Enticing, herself a three-time Stakes winner for the same connections. She is one of two black-type winners out of the top sprinter Superstar Leo.
