First Runner a Winner for Saxon Warrior

With his oldest Australian progeny set to race here next season, young blue-blood Deep Impact sire Saxon Warrior is on the board with his first winner in France from his first runner.

Two year-old colt Ser Sed (2c Saxon Warrior x Lady Livonia, by Frankel) powered to the line to win the 5 ½ furlong Prix Mercier by three-quarters of a length at Le Lion d'Angers.

Trained by Joel Boisnard and bred by Gestut Ammerland, Ser Sed is the first winner for Lady Livonia, a sibling by Frankel to Champion 3YO and sire Lope de Vega, Group III winner Lady Frankel and stakes-winner Bal de La Rose, the dam of Group I winner Danceteria.

The first Australian yearlings by Saxon Warrior have sold well here this year for up to $400,000.
