Mitty’s Smile Adds To No Nay Never’s Impressive Juvenile Record
The Archie Watson-trained Mitty’s Smile (2f No Nay Never - Lace, by Sadler’s Wells) built on a promising debut to take Monday’s six furlong Novice Stakes at Windsor.
A close fourth over the same distance earlier in July, the bay filly was sent off favourite under Oisin Murphy. Racing prominently, she led over two furlongs out and was driven out to hold off Mild Illusion (Requinto) by a length.
The M Aziz-owned winner was bred by Summerseat Stables out of Lace (Sadler’s Wells), a half-sister to Grade 1 performer Zarani Sidi Anna, herself the grand-dam of top sprinters Tangerine Trees and Alpha Delphini.
