Quickstep (Wootton Bassett) wins the Prix du Louvre at Longchamp

Wootton Bassett featured in France on Friday where three year-old filly Quickstep (3f Wootton Bassett x Dance Toupie, by Dansili) carried the Godolphin blue colours to victory in the Listed Prix Coronation (1600m) at Saint-Cloud.

A winner at her only start at two, the Andre Fabre trained Quickstep had a couple of runs early in the season winning at Longchamp before finishing eighth in the Group I Poule d'Essai des Pouliches behind Blue Rose Cen.

Having her first run since then, Quickstep scored a short neck win over the favourite Orchid Bloom and has now won three of five starts.

Quickstep was bought for 350,000 guineas at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 2 by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock for Godolphin and is a half-sister to a pair of Group placed horses and is the best of six winners from six to race from good producer Dance Toupie, a half-sister by Dansili to Japanese Group winners Satono Rasen and Satono Chronicle.

Quickstep is the 38th stakes-winner and 10th this year for Wootton Bassett, who is back in Australia at a fee of $93,500 with his first yearlings to sell here next year.
