Promising Debut 2YO Winner for American Pharoah
The Robrick Lodge colours featured at Hawkesbury on Tuesday carried by a talented two year-old daughter of American Pharoah in Yankees (2f American Pharoah x Mine Two, by I Am Invincible).
Trained by Garry Frazer, Yankees looked to be taking on a tough task facing a big field of older maidens, but she unleashed a big finish to win the 1000m dash by a length.
Yankees was bred and retained to race by Greg and Jodie White of Robrick Lodge and is the second winner from Group III placed I Am Invincible mare Mine Two, a half-sister to Group I SAJC Robert Sangster Stakes winner Spright, who raced in the same colours as Yankees and was also trained by Garry Frazer.
American Pharoah has had a fruitful week in the Northern Hemisphere with two new Group winners, Above the Curve winning the Group I Prix Saint Alary in France and American Theorem winning the Group II Triple Bend Stakes in North America.
The Triple Crown winner is back on the roster for Australia this spring at a fee of $49,500.
