Victoria Road (Saxon Warrior) Wins The Group 3 Prix De Conde at Chantilly

Saxon Warrior Colt Gains Second Stakes Success

Saturday saw Victoria Road (2c Saxon Warrior - Tickled Pink, by Invincible Spirit) record back-to-back black-type wins in the Group 3 Prix de Conde at Chantilly.

Off the mark last month, the Aidan O’Brien-trained colt captured a Listed contest last month and runner-up Blue Rose Cen (Churchill) subsequently boosted the form with a Group 3 success.

Victoria Road stepped up to nine furlongs at the weekend and was ridden towards the back of the field by Ryan Moore. Ridden to make headway two furlongs from home, the bay produced a strong challenge approaching the final furlong and led close home to win by a neck, going away.

Another step up in class may now be on the cards for the son of Saxon Warrior, who holds entries at Group 2 and Group 1 level. The progressive bay was bred by Trevor Stewart and is owned by Westerberg, Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith.

MV Magnier’s 115,000gns yearling buy leads a strong start at stud by Saxon Warrior, whose first crop also includes Group 2 Debutante Stakes third Thornbrook.
