Back To Back Wins For Magna Grecia Filly
Indication Spirit (2f Magna Grecia – Guessing, by Kingmambo) produced a game performance to complete back-to-back course and distance wins at Musselburgh on Tuesday.
The Karl Burke-trained bay finished a promising second on debut to a more experienced rival and returned two weeks later to win a five furlong maiden. Sent off favourite to follow up under Clifford Lee, she raced in second until leading from the two furlong pole and was ridden approaching the final furlong. Running on well when challenged, she led by a neck on the line.
A step up in trip may bring further improvement from the Magna Grecia filly, who was bred by Barronstown Stud out of a half-sister to Horatio Nelson (Danehill) and Van Gogh (American Pharoah). Owned by Nick Bradley Racing, the progressive filly continues a promising start at stud by Magna Grecia, whose first crop also includes Stakes winner Myconian.
