1.25million Guineas for Wootton Bassett Colt
One of the highlight horses in the second session of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1 was a stunning Wootton Bassett colt from Entreat that sold to MV Magnier and White Birch Farm for 1.25million guineas.
Offered by Clara Stud, the colt is a half-brother to Group I Royal Ascot Commonwealth Cup winner Golden Horde and stakes-winners Exhort and Line of Departure being from terrific producer Entreat, who has left seven winners from eight runners.
His breeder James Cloney was at Tattersalls to see the colt go through the ring.
"The horse really sold himself, he is a lovely horse," said Cloney.
"It is a once in a lifetime to have such a beautiful horse, he is the right shape, the right size, has the right walk and the right pedigree."
Wootton Bassett has also had big results with colts from Ashley Hall and Always a Dream selling for 550,000 guineas and 470,000 guineas to Coal County Equine and Blandford Bloodstock respectively with one more session to come.
The first Southern Hemisphere bred yearlings by Wootton Bassett promise to be a highlight at Australasian sales in 2024.
