$1.35 Million Filly for American Pharoah at Keeneland September
Book 1 of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale saw AMO Racing go to $1.35 million to secure an American Pharoah filly during the first session of the sale.
The third most expensive filly of Book 1, the Paramount Sales offering bred by Springhouse Farm is a full sister to the multiple Grade II winner Forbidden Kingdom. That colt is one of four winners from five to race out of the Grade III-winning Just Louise.
“We love her. We saw her on the first day and on Sunday,” said AMO Racing's Kia Joorabchian. “We loved her and we went back to see her a couple of times. She's got a great pedigree. To be honest, that's what we are looking for. We're looking for fillies with great pedigrees and she was a standout for us, so we weren't going to stop.”
This family is full of stakes form with Just Louise a half-sister to multiple Grade II winner Sara Louise, who has produced two stakes performers of her own. Sara Louise is also the granddam of Uncle Mo’s stakes winning Airosa and two other stakes performers. In all, the filly’s page has nine stakes performers under her Grade III-placed second dam.
“We've had the mare for a while, she's been very good to me,” said Springhouse Farm’s Gabriel Duignan. “Delighted with where she is going and delighted with the price. I'm glad she is going to great owners. She is a very nice filly and has been very popular all week. It's a fantastic family, her brother is very good.”
The filly sold only two days after American Pharoah filly Deep Satin won the Virginia Oaks as one of nine stakes winners for American Pharoah this year.
