Uncle Mo Head Shot

$675,000 Colt For Uncle Mo at Keeneland September

It was another successful session for Uncle Mo on Tuesday, led by a $675,000 colt out of stakes placed Frank’s Folly.

Purchased by Three Chimneys Farm from the Lane’s End consignment, the colt’s dam is a three-quarter sister to Grade I winner Max Play and a half-sister to Group II winner and Group I-placed Seahenge in addition to Grade I-placed Urban Bourbon. Their stakes winning dam Fools In Love herself is a half-sister to Fusaichi Pegasus’s multiple graded stakes winner International Star.

That colt cost just $25,000 more than an Uncle Mo filly purchased by Maverick Racing and Siena Farm out of Fame and Fortune. The $650,000 filly is a full sister to Bashford Manor winner Gulfport and half-sister to Grade II-placed Favor. Gulfport added even more blacktype to the page after the catalog was released with second place finishes in the Grade I Hopeful and Grade II Saratoga Special.

Their granddam is the Grade I-winning Stop Traffic, who has produced Grade I winner Cross Traffic and four other stakes performers.

Uncle Mo also had yearlings sell for $600,000, $550,000, $400,000, $400,000, etc. during the second session.

It has been a successful Keeneland September for Uncle Mo with his 12 yearlings sold averaging $465,000 with a median of $512,500, led by an $850,000 colt.
