Another black-type filly for Mastercraftsman
Nakuti (4f Mastercraftsman-Sheba Five, by Five Star Day) delivered another high-profile success for Mastercraftsman on Tuesday when winning the Listed Pipalong Stakes at Pontefract in the colours of owner Nelius Hayes.
The Sylvester Kirk-trained filly, bred by Eamonn McEvoy, came home a length clear of the field in the mile contest, to the delight of connections.
“We were hoping to get some black type for Nakuti,” Hayes told the Racing Post. “We were hoping for some give in the ground and we got a little today. She´s in the Bunbury Cup on Saturday but that will come too soon for her, but she´s also in the International at Ascot later in the month.”
