The Camelot bandwagon keeps on rolling and on Tuesday it was the turn of Tonkin (2c Camelot-Anklet, by Acclamation) to score in great style.
Rick Barnes’ home-bred took the seven-furlong Listowel maiden by eight and a half lengths for trainer Patrick Prendergast and Tonkin will now step up to black-type company for his next start.
"I knew he'd handle soft and he ran a real nice race at Killarney and the winner was second in a Group 3 since,” said Prendergast. "Ronan (Whelan) likes this horse and the reason I ran him was that he is going for the Eyrefield Stakes and I didn't think he was just ready to step into Listed class yet and he would have learned a lot today."
