Australia Filly Justified Favouritism In Saint Cloud Class 2
Elounda Queen (2f Australia - Ivirka, by Mastercraftsman) made it two from three with a smart success in a Class 2 fillies’ conditions race at Saint-Cloud on Friday.
Trained by Jean-Claude Rouget for Ecuries Serge Stempniak, the daughter of Australia made a winning debut in July and was last seen finishing strongly into a close second in a Class 2 at Deauville. Racing over seven and a half furlongs once again on Friday, the chesnut was sent off favourite under Cristian Demuro and chased the leaders for much of the way. Ridden to challenge two furlongs from home, she led a furlong later and was pushed out to score by a length and three quarters.
Elounda Queen is the first foal bred by Scea Marmion Vauville and Ecurie Skymarc Farm out of Ivirka (Mastercraftsman), who has a Gleneagles colt catalogued in the Arqana October Yearling Sale.
