Australia Filly Wins Group 2 Italian Oaks In Record Time
Nachtrose (3f Australia - Night Of Magic, by Peintre Celebre) produced an impressive performance to win the Group 2 Italian Oaks in track record time on just her third career start.
Leading from an early stage in the mile and three furlong contest, the Peter Schiergen-trained chesnut drew clear approaching the final furlong and stayed on well to win by three lengths.
Speaking after the race, winning rider Bauyrzhan Murzabayev said, “The filly has plenty of stamina and class, she won with plenty left in the tank and obviously she will improve.”
Nachtrose was bred by Frau Ursula and Jurgen Imm, who race the filly under their Stall Nizza banner. She continues a terrific run for her sire Australia, with the likeable Broome (Australia) having won the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot the previous day. The progressive Earl Of Tyrone (Australia) gained a maiden Stakes success earlier this week, while Group 1 winner Mare Australis (Australia) returned to winning ways in a Group 2 contest earlier this month.
