Cavalry Master (Milan) Wins The Novices Chase At Wexford

Brave Son Of Milan Completes Hat Trick

Cavalry Master (7g Milan - Magie De Toulouse, by Northern Crystal) made it three from three this season when landing Wednesday’s Novice Chase at Wexford.

Dropping back to two and a half miles, the Henry De Bromhead-trained grey raced prominently under Mike O’Connor and was ridden from two out. Gaining the advantage on the run-in, he dug deep to deny Star Max (Maxios) by half a length.

Speaking after the race, the winning rider said, “He is a tough horse and just puts the head down and gallops. He had a good jump at the last.”

Grade 3 placed last season, the Gigginstown House Stud-owned gelding is now a three-time winner over fences, while he was previously successful over hurdles and in a bumper. The son of Milan was bred by James Cummins and Ms Jacqueline Taylor.
