Camelot Colt Takes Top Spot At Arqana Opener

A son of Camelot topped the opening day of the Arqana October Yearling Sale when knocked down to Mandore Agency’s Nicolas de Watrigant for €440,000.

Ecurie des Monceaux offered the brother to Listed winner Big Blue (Galileo), whose Group winning dam is a half-sister to champion three-year-old Bright Sky.

After signing the docket, De Watrigant said, “I bought him for MV Magnier, for whom I have already bought a son of Camelot called Mythical, who was Group 1 placed. Camelot is a stallion that we like a lot and who has been successful for us in the past, so we are very happy to get this colt.”

Camelot’s first lot through the ring on Monday, Lot 91 from Coulonces, was knocked down to Niall O’Connor and McEvoy Mitchell Racing for €185,000. The bay filly is the first produce of Pink Pain, who shares her page with Peintre Celebre.
