Camelot Filly Proves All Heart In Chester Stakes
The Ralph Beckett-trained Yesyes (3f Camelot - Shared Account, by Dansili) battled bravely to gain her first black-type win in Saturday’s Listed Chester Stakes.
The winner of her first two starts, the Juddmonte homebred finished a fine fourth at Listed level last month and was sent off favourite as she stepped up to a mile and six furlongs at Chester. Racing in midfield under John Egan, she began to make headway from four furlongs out and was ridden to lead approaching the final furlong. Forced to rally when challenged, she dug deep to prevail by a short head on the line.
Another step up in class may be on the cards for Yesyes, with the daughter of Camelot holding entries in the St Leger and Group 1 British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes at Ascot.
