Cloe Impressive in Debut for Tiz The Law

It was winner number four of 2025 for Tiz The Law on Wednesday when Cloe won a Gulfstream Park Maiden Special Weight by 5 ¾ lengths.

Victor Barboza Jr. started his trainee’s career going 5 ½ furlongs on the synthetic track in what proved to be a smart decision. The filly entered a duel nearly from the start with Amande and they stuck together until the stretch run.

In upper stretch, Amande started to fade and gave Cloe just what she needed to easily pull away. Luis Saez kept his mount in a drive to the line with the sophomore pulling away to a 5 ¾ length win.

Racing for Lugamo Racing Stable, the filly bred by Crosshaven Bloodstock is out of a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Eldaafer. Their dual Grade I winning dam Habibti also produced stakes winner Muhaawara, who is the dam of Grade III winner Shagaf and multiple stakes placed Munqad. So You Think’s stakes winner and multiple group placed So You Win is also in the family as is Grade I winner Gal in a Ruckus and champion Soft Falling Rain.

Tiz The Law’s first nine runners in 2025 also include Silent Law, who finished third in the Santa Ynez Stakes on Sunday.
