Colt Rock Gives Mo Town Weekend Double

It was another winner for Mo Town on Saturday when Colt Rock (2c Mo Town x Instrumental, by City Zip) won at Charles Town.

The colt broke best of all in the 4 ½ furlong dirt race and sprinted to a two-length lead. The colt was asked for more in the stretch and responded eagerly to win by 2 ¾ lengths in the end as the heavy favorite.

A homebred for David Bloom, the Javier Contreras trainee has finished in the top three in two of his three starts with this win coming three weeks after his third-place finish last out.

Colt Rock is out of a half-sister to the Grade III winner Willy o’ The Valley and is one of two winners from three starters out of his dam. That mare is also a half-sister to the dam of two-time stakes placed Tahoe Tigress.

The juvenile is the second winner of the weekend and 16th winner overall for Mo Town, who saw Highway Harmony win at Aqueduct on Friday as well.
