Cooke Creek (Uncle Mo) wins the Rocky Run Stakes at Delaware

Cooke Creek Wins Rocky Run for Uncle Mo

Uncle Mo’s Cooke Creek (2c Uncle Mo x Genre, by Bernardini) became the newest stakes winner for the potent Uncle Mo x Bernardini cross with a victory in the Rocky Run Stakes at Delaware.

Racing a mile on the dirt, Cooke Creek raced a few lengths behind the leader before taking command as they hit the stretch. The colt didn’t have it easy, however. He had to fight off No Sabe Nada before that one was replaced by Affable Monarch.

Cooke Creek wasn’t to be denied and won by half a length with No Sabe Nada nearly three lengths back in third.

Trained by Jerry O’Dwyer for Cheyenne Stables, it was the second win in two starts for Cooke Creek.

Bred on a cross that has produced three graded stakes winners, led by Uncle Mo’s dual surface graded stakes winning son and studmate Mo Town, Cooke Creek is out of the Grade III winning Bernardini mare Genre, who has two winners from two to race by Uncle Mo.

A daughter of Grade II winner French Park, Genre is a half-sister to stakes-placed Parc Monceau and the dam of multiple stakes winner Midnight Fantasy. French Park herself is a half-sister to the dam of dual Grade I winner Palace.
