Daughter Of Australia Makes All To Maiden Success
Friday saw the progressive Galah (2f Australia - Lunar Spirit, by Invincible Spirit) make all to gain her maiden success over a mile at Thirsk.
Third on debut and a close second next time out, the Ralph Beckett-trained bay was sent off second favourite on her first run over a mile. Daniel Tudhope rode her to make all and asked her to quicken from over two furlongs out, his mount running on well to hold off challengers, prevailing by a length on the line.
Successful in the colours of Mr and Mrs David Aykroyd, Galah becomes the first winner out of their homebred mare Lunar Spirit, herself a half-sister to Group 1 performer and producer Kissable (Danehill Dancer).
