Debut Winner Adds To Sioux Nation’s Impressive Tally
Nails Murphy (2c Sioux Nation - Supernovae, by Dalakhani) made a bright start to his career when beating a previous winner in Tuesday’s seven furlong Novice Stakes at Chelmsford.
Ridden prominently by George Rooke, Richard Hughes’ newcomer produced a challenge two furlongs from home and was pushed along to lead approaching the final furlong. Ridden out, he kept on well to score by a comfortable three parts of a length, as the favourite Ottoman Prince (Zoffany) ran on for second.
Owned by Mansergh, Wallace and Murphy, the first crop son of Sioux Nation was bred by Grenane House Stud. He becomes his sire’s 43rd individual winner, three of whom have won at Stakes level and 11 of which have achieved black-type.
