Impressive Group 2 Winner Continues Super Season For Sioux Nation

The best is yet to come from Sioux Life (3f Sioux Nation – Ninepins, by Rip Van Winkle), according to Endo Botti, after she ran out an impressive winner of Sunday’s Group 2 Premio Lydia Tesio at Capannelle.

The La Tesa Spa-owned bay came into the ten-furlong race with three listed wins and one Group 3 victory to her name. Reunited with Dario Di Tocco on Sunday, she chased the leaders for much of the way and was ridden to lead a furlong and a half from home. Soon clear, she went on to score by four lengths, with another three lengths back to Group 2 Italian Oaks heroine Tomiko (Footstepsinthesand) in third.

“The filly has really improved since her summer break and is much stronger than in the spring,” Endo Botti later explained. “I was pretty confident before the race and she confirmed my feelings. I think she could be even better at four and we could think about some good races abroad.”

Bred by Allevamento Le Gi Srl Societa' Agricola, Sioux Life continues a terrific season for her sire Sioux Nation. Sunday marked his seventh Stakes success this monthso far, the sire responsible for 10 Group performers and 13 black-type horses to-date in 2024.
