Dreamy American Pharoah Wins The Gr 3 Newtownanner

Dreamy Newest Stakes Winner for American Pharoah

Breaking her maiden on debut last out, Dreamy (2f American Pharoah x Tapestry, by Galileo) added a stakes win to her resume in her second start on Saturday with a victory in the Group III Newtownanner Stud Stakes.

Moving up a furlong farther in distance to one mile at the Curragh, Dreamy raced just behind the leaders under Ryan Moore. She showed some greenness with a quarter mile left to run, but Moore got her focused and in the final furlong, she comfortably pulled away to a 1 ½ length victory.

Racing as a homebred for Flaxman Stables and the Coolmore partners, Dreamy holds an entry to the Group I Fillies’ Mile in October.

The filly out of Group I winner Tapestry is the second stakes performer from two runners for her dam with that mare also producing Group III-placed New World Tapestry.

Tapestry herself is one of two stakes winners out of dual Group I winner and champion Rumplestiltskin alongside Group III winner John F Kennedy. Seeing the champion and bluehen mare Miesque as her fourth dam, Dreamy also sees champions Loves Only You and Real Steel under her third dam.

American Pharoah is the sire of eight Northern Hemisphere stakes winners this year and 16 stakes performers with both putting him in the top 20 among all North American sires.
