Echo Town Colt Romps by 6 ¾ Lengths at Woodbine
Commander Worsley (2c Echo Town x Re Entry, by Malibu Moon) was a Woodbine winner for his sire on Thursday with a 6 ¾ length maiden-breaking romp.
The 7 ½ furlong synthetic race saw Commander Worsley go straight to the lead under Emma-Jayne Wilson to dictate the race around the track. Having a few lengths in hand around the track, in the stretch there was no chance to catch the race favorite when he was urged by Wilson in the stretch.
Commander Worsley pulled away once asked to win by 6 ¾ lengths for his second straight race placing.
Commander Worsley is trained by Darwin Banach for John Hillier and John Lofts after being bred by Thor-Bred Stables in Kentucky.
The colt is a half-brother to Grade III winner Shotgun Hottie and two other winners from five siblings to race out of Re Entry. Re Entry is a half-sister to Grade I winner and multiple stakes winner and Grade I placed Quick Little Miss with two other sisters producing stakes performers.
This is also the family of Grade I winner Pure Clan and Finley’sluckycharm among others.
Echo Town is the sire of seven winners with the group including four-time stakes placed Three Echoes.
