Elegant Echo First Stakes Winner for Echo Town
Echo Town daughter Elegant Echo (2f Echo Town x Violation, by Violence) stayed undefeated on Friday night when the filly became her sire’s first stakes winner in the Oklahoma Classics Lassie Stakes.
Extending an extra furlong to six furlongs in this race, Elegant Echo went off as an even-money favorite and settled just a few lengths behind the leaders out of the gate. Sent five wide around Remington Park’s far turn, the filly spent much of the stretch chasing the leader but got the job done.
In the end, Elegant Echo won by half a length with the third placed runner four lengths behind her to take her record to two-from-two.
Trained by Alan Williams for the Edward B. Melzer Revocable Trust, Elegant Echo was bred by Circle Bar H.
She is the first foal out of eight-time winner Violation, who is a half-sister to the winning dam of multiple graded stakes winner Informative. This page also includes Grade I winner El Corredor and Roman Ruler among others.
Echo Town is also the sire of multiple stakes placed Three Echoes, who has placed in all four of his stakes starts led by the Grade II Sanford Stakes.
