Fabre colt wins Derby Du Midi for Holy Roman

Three-year-old Mask Of Time (3c Holy Roman Emperor-Mission Secrete, by Galileo) brought another black-type victory for Holy Roman Emperor on Saturday.

Owned by Ballymore Thoroughbreds and bred by Dayton Investments, the Andre Fabre-trained colt claimed first place in the Listed 161st Derby Du Midi at Bordeaux Le Bouscat.

Pierre-Charles Boudot weaved his way through the field of the 1m 1f event, finding some congestion along the way.

“It took a bit of luck to find a gap but when I came for a run I had a lot of gas in the tank. It made the difference in three strides,” said Boudot.
