Kingston Hill Head Shot

First Winner For Unbeaten Juvenile Kingston Hill

Kingston Hill welcomed his first winner on Wednesday, when the Antonio Peraino-trained Galador (2c Kingston Hill - Silent Confession, by Mr Greeley) made a winning debut at San Siro.

Racing over six furlongs, the grey broke well under Antonio Fresu and chased a brisk pace set by the Alduino Botti-trained favourite Cool And Dry. Quickening when others dropped away, he asserted in the final furlong and rallied bravely to hold off the battling favourite by half a length, with a further three lengths back to the third horse.

Owned by Scuderia Orizzonte Verde, Galador was bred by Al Mohamediya Breeding and is a grandson of Marzelline, a Listed winner and second in the Grade 1 Santa Maria Handicap.

Kingston Hill also boasts a fine pedigree, the son of Mastercraftsman being bred out of Group 3 winner Audacieuse, herself a Rainbow Quest half-sister to Acomb Stakes winner New Greenfield. Dual Group 1 winner Danseuse Du Soir features further down the page.

Kingston Hill was unbeaten at two, graduating from winning a maiden, to winning a Group 3 and ending the season on a high in the Racing Post Trophy, which he won by four and a half lengths. He chased home Australia in the Epsom Derby the following season and landed the second Group 1 of his career when winning the British St. Leger.

He commands €5,000 at Castlehyde Stud this season.
