French Recruit Continues Camelot’s Terrific Season
Camelot’s terrific season continued on Thursday when Bolleville (4f Camelot - Brasileira, by Dubai Destination) made a winning start for new connections in the Listed Silver Stakes at Leopardstown.
Previously a winner at Listed level for Pascal Bary, the four-year-old was making her first start for owners Cayton Park Stud and Joseph O’Brien. Shane Crosse rode the bay towards the back of the field, producing a challenge in the straight and ridden to lead inside the final furlong. Running on well, she scored by a length from Simsir (Zoffany), while the favourite Keats (Galileo) finished third.
Assistant trainer Brendan Powell was delighted with the winner’s performance, later commenting, “Bolleville travelled great and she just kept quickening. It's a while since she ran and she can only keep improving. She looks a very smart filly.”
Bred by Ecurie Serval, Bolleville adds to a super successful month for her sire Camelot. Just days earlier, his daughter Even So captured the Irish Oaks and Sinjaari landed the valuable John Smith’s Cup at York.
