Sword Song (Saxon Warrior) Wins On Debut at ParisLongchamp

Game Newcomer Becomes Latest Winner By Saxon Warrior

Sword Song (2f Saxon Warrior - Lady Penko, by Archipenko) battled back to make a winning debut in Sunday’s nine furlong maiden at Longchamp.

Trained by M Delcher Sanchez for owner/breeder Ballylinch Stud, the well-related bay broke well and led the field into the straight. Headed by Louve Story two furlongs from home, she responded well to pressure and battled neck-and-neck to the line, where she led by a short neck.

A half-sister to Stakes performer Golden Lips, Sword Song continues an impressive start by Saxon Warrior’s first crop. The top-class son of Deep Impact is responsible for six black-typehorses, including dual Stakes winner Victoria Road, Group 3 scorer Lumiere Rock and Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac second Gan Teorainn.
