Getaway Mare Makes Smart Debut At Borris House
Sanda Rena (4m Getaway - Conors Miracle, by Oscar) made a bright start to her career when taking the four-year-old mares maiden at Borris House on Sunday.
Trained by Sean Doyle for Gearoid Doyle, the daughter of Getaway was ridden to chase the leaders by Liam Gilligan. Making headway to lead before the turn for home, the bay kept on well from the second last to win by two lengths.
A return to the sales ring may now be the plan for Sanda Rena, who was bred by Michael O’Regan out of a half-sister to talented chaser Leanne.
