The Richard Hughes-trained So I Told You (2f Gleneagles - Nocturne, by Rock Of Gibraltar) built on last month’s promising debut to take Wednesday’s EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Nottingham.

A close second over a mile at the first attempt, the Flaxman Stables homebred was sent off favourite under Ryan Moore, who rode her to lead. Headed after three furlongs, she regained the advantage approaching the three furlong marker and was ridden entering the final furlong, staying on well to win by two lengths and a quarter.

So I Told You is a half-sister to the ill-fated but talented Nivaldo, out of a winner closely related to German Derby victor Nutan, Group 1 winner Nymphea (Dylan Thomas) and Group 3 scorer Navaro Girl (Holy Roman Emperor).
