Holy Roman Emperor’s Group 1 Filly Sells For €600,000
Group 1 performer Ottilien (3f Holy Roman Emperor - Vezina, by Bering) will race on in the colours of Bobby Flay, after selling to the celebrity chef and owner/breeder for €600,000 at Arqana.
The David Menuisier-trained bay has always boasted residual value as a full-sister to Group 1 winner Morandi (Holy Roman Emperor), and increased her worth with a Listed win in September, before finishing third in the Group 1 Prix de Royallieu.
Her new owner plans to race the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor in Europe or the US, with exact plans yet to be decided.
Holy Roman Emperor enjoyed another significant sales result on Monday, when Stakes winner Roman Mist (4f Holy Roman Emperor - Drifting mist, by Muhtathir) bought 360,000gns at Tattersalls.
David Redvers signed for the Kavanagh family’s homebred, who was offered by AK Thoroughbreds. A Listed winner earlier this year, the grey’s record also featured three more black-type placings, including a fine third in the Group 3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes.
