In Form Son Of Camelot Captures Group 2 Prize

Saracen Knight (7g Camelot - Za’hara, by Raven’s Pass) will be aimed at the valuable Moonee Valley Cup after recording his second consecutive success in the Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes.

Danny O’Brien’s charge returned to form last month when winning the Listed R.M. Ansett Classic at Mornington and was sent off favourite to follow up over the same trip of a mile and a half. Jamie Kah retained the ride and steered the bay to win by a length and a quarter.

“Geez this horse is flying,” a delighted Kah said after the race. “They've just got this horse in the zone. He's push button to ride but he just really wants to do it at the moment.”

“He's a very happy horse,” O’Brien added. “The longer he's been in work the better he's got.” Looking to the future, he continued, “We've got a million dollar Moonee Valley Cup in two weeks' time so I suspect that we'll head there.”

Owned by D Freyer, T Horoch, et al, Saracen Knight began his career with Aidan O’Brien, for whom he won twice and achieved an official rating of 99. The son of Camelot was bred by Lisbrook and sold to MV Magnier as a yearling for €230,000.
