Likeable Wootton Bassett Filly Makes All To Win On Debut
Valina (2f Wootton Bassett - Roman Ride, by Holy Roman Emperor) made a perfect start to her career at La Teste, where she made all to win Monday’s seven furlong fillies maiden.
Breaking well under Clara Cornet, the Sandrine Gavilan-trained made was asked to quicken early in the straight, as several rivals produced strong challenges. Running on well, she was never headed and kept on to win by a length and a quarter.
Owned and bred by Scea Chateau Montlandrie, Valina becomes the first winner out of Roman Ride, herself a half-sister to Stakes winner Baino Rock (Rock Of Gibraltar).
