Mahler Mare Gains Due Reward With Maiden Win
Frilly Frock (5m Mahler - Killoughey Baby, by Oscar) gained due reward for a narrow defeat last time out when winning Friday’s Five-Year-Old Mares’ Maiden at Necarne.
With just six days between runs, the Colin Bowe-trained mare was once again partnered by Barry O’Neill and raced prominently for much of the race. Leading five from home, she was pushed out approaching the final fence and stayed on well to beat Rarest Diamond (Milan) by four lengths.
Bred by Joseph Campbell, Frilly Frock comes from the family of Irish Grand National victor Glebe Lad and is entered in the Goffs UK Spring HIT Sale later in the month.
