Maximum Blast Wins Second Straight
It was a second straight victory for Maximum Security’s Maximum Blast (2c Maximum Security x Jost d’Oro, by Medaglia d’Oro) on Thursday in an Allowance.
The Jason Lisboa-trained colt went off as the favorite in the 6 ½ furlong dirt race and happily let another horse take up the running while sitting a few lengths off the pace. In the stretch, he lived up to his name when blasting up to the leader and passing that one by.
Only the leader was able to stay within eight lengths of the Establo Astroboy runner, finishing 1 ¼ lengths behind Maximum Blast.
Maximum Blast has won three of his five starts while also finishing fourth in the local Grade II Clasico Angel T. Cordero Jr. Stakes.
Bred by Palm Beach Racing, Maximum Blast is a half-brother to the multiple stakes winner Josdeanimaux out of a daughter of dual Grade I winner Jostle. That mare produced eight winners from 11 to race, including stakes winner Nobrag Justfact and Grade III placed Fire Assay.
Maximum Security has sired 17 worldwide winners from his first crop and has proven to be a truly international stallion with his victors coming in eight different countries.
