Maximum Security head shot

Maximum Security Juvenile Scores Again

It was a second straight victory for Mr. Bogan (2g Maximum Security x Mischievous Lass, by Into Mischief) when he won at Parx on Tuesday.

Making his first start since breaking his maiden by 9 ¾ lengths, he stayed at the one-mile distance on the dirt for this start. The race went similar to his previous one when he broke on top and quickly took the lead. Mr. Bogan opened multiple lengths on the field in the mid stages of the race and looked like he’d win by open lengths again around the turn.

The race wasn’t going to be that easy, but Mr. Bogan refused to lose and won by a neck at the line from a late closer with the rest of the field over five lengths behind the top two.

Trained by Josue Arce for Michael Gramiak, the Pedro Gonzalez-bred gelding is out of two-time winner Mischievous Lass. That mare is a half-sister to stakes winner Shooger Ray Too and Grade III-placed Awesome Boss among the five other winners out of Caftan.

Mischievous Lass’s granddam is the Grade I winner Jilbab, who is a half-sister to Grade I winner and champion Ancient World.

It’s been a big December for Maximum Security, who has sired four winners this month alone.
