Mo Town Duo On Offer at Fasig-Tipton February

A duo of Mo Town colts will represent their sire at this year’s Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale next week with one offering on each day of the sale.

The action kicks off when Taylor Made offers a colt out of Vendita as Hip 257 late on Monday. Bred by DP Racing, he is the first foal out of his eight-time winning Smart Strike dam. That mare is out of stakes winner and multiple graded stakes placed Cure For Sale, a full sister to Grade II winner Blues For Sale.

The family found major success in the Fasig-Tipton sales ring a little over a year ago when Blues For Sale’s Grade I Breeders’ Cup Distaff winning daughter Blue Prize topped the 2019 Fasig-Tipton November Sale. Sold to OXO Equine, she brought $5 million.

On the second day of the sale, Alliance Sales Agency sends out Hip 491.

Bred by Ralph Edward Kinder and Erv Woolsey, the colt is the second foal out of the stakes-placed To Honor and Serve mare I’m Patriotic for 3 x 3 inbreeding to Bernardini. I’m Patriotic herself is out of Grade III winner Eve Giselle, who has three winners from three to race.

Each of the yearling’s first seven dams with foals of racing age have produced at least one stakes horse with his extended family including successful sire and classic winner Roberto.

A dual surfaced graded stakes winner, Mo Town’s first crop has sold up to $185,000 with multiple session toppers. Both sessions of the sale kick off at 10:00 a.m. ET.
