Malbay Madness (Wings Of Eagles) Wins At Killarney

More To Come From Wings Of Eagles’ Latest Winner

Malbay Madness (2g Wings Of Eagles - Star Search, by Zamindar) justified strong market support to get off the mark in Thursday’s opener at Killarney.

Stepping up to a mile for the first time, the Eddie Linehan-trained bay was sent off favourite under Wayne Lordan. Asked to quicken from three furlongs out, he was asked to challenge a furlong later and kept on well to lead on the line.

Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “It's great and he'll improve again. I think he is a horse with a future and I think he'll be better at 1m 2f and will be a nice horse for three-year-old hurdles next year.”

Owned by John Linehan and bred by The Kathryn Stud, Malbay Madness hails from the second crop of Epsom Derby hero Wings Of Eagles. His first runners also include Listed winner Blue Wings, black-type performer Lovely Diamond and dual hurdle winner Sea My Eagles.
