Cadamosto (No Nay Never) Makes A Winning Debut At Dundalk

No Nay Never Colt Sprints Clear On Debut

Smart newcomer Cadamosto (2c No Nay Never - Saucy Spirit, by Invincible Spirit) led home a 1-2 for Coolmore Stud sires in Saturday’s five furlong maiden at Dundalk.

The Aidan O’Brien-trained colt was sent off joint-favourite and was ridden to dispute the lead by Ryan Moore. Asserting as he entered the straight, he ran on strongly to win by three and a half lengths from fellow market leader Silver Surfer (Caravaggio).

Speaking after the race, Ryan Moore said, “He has a super attitude and travelled around very comfortably all the way. You'd be very happy with what he done.”

Bought by MV Magnier as a yearling for £130,000, Cadamosto is owned by Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith, Mrs John Magnier and Westerberg. The son of No Nay Never was bred by Peter Henley and Eric McDonnell out of two-year-old maiden winner Saucy Spirit.
